Sharon joined Pleatco Filtration in September 2019 as CFO. Prior to Pleatco Filtration, Sharon served as CFO of Bailey International LLC (“Bailey”) since January 1, 2018. She started her career at Bailey in May 2013 as Controller before ultimately being promoted to CFO. Bailey is located in Knoxville Tennessee and employs a unique business model as not only a manufacturer, but also a distributor of hydraulic solutions, making for a great fit with Sharon’s experiences. Sharon previously worked as Regional Controller for PSC Metals, Inc., one of the nation’s largest recyclers of scrap metal. PSC Metals collects, trades, brokers, processes and recycles metal, both ferrous (containing iron) and nonferrous (not containing iron). Sharon was responsible for all aspects of the accounting and financial planning functions for the East Tennessee region which included nine company yards. Prior to PSC Metals, Sharon was the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for Brunswick Corporation – Boat Group Division. Brunswick Boat Group is the largest maker of pleasure boats in the world. During Sharon’s tenure, Brunswick Boat Group had net sales in excess of $1B. Most of her employment was dealing with the 2009 recession and the overall downsizing that occurred at Brunswick as a result of the recession, which included but was not limited to, the wind-down/down-sizing of the US Marine division (included such brands as Bayliner, Maxum, Trophy and Meridian) and the shut-down of a 500,000 sq. ft. facility in North Carolina.
Prior to Sharon’s experience in private industry, she spent most of the previous 12 years in roles of escalating responsibility in public accounting at both regional and national firms, including 5 ½ years at Deloitte. Sharon worked with clients in multiple industries, including manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, technology, government and insurance, including some SEC clients.
Sharon grew up in Huntsville, AL and graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from Mississippi State University and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee. She is a CPA (inactive) and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In Sharon’s spare time she enjoys spending time in their backyard pool with her wife, Tab and is a thrill-seeker who loves an out-of-the box adrenaline rush. Tab and Sharon welcomed their first child in August, daughter Sawyer. She has two siblings, a brother, Greg, who is a general surgeon and a sister, Debbie, who is a stay-at-home mom. Between the two siblings, she has 5 nephews and a niece who she loves to spend time doing activities that are of interest to each.
